Characterization of peripheral cytokine-secreting cells responses in HIV/TB co-infection

چکیده

Background Currently the responses of peripheral cytokine-secreting cells in natural course human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and tuberculosis (TB) co-infection haven’t been fully elucidated. Methods The function proinflammatory, regulatory cytotoxic were investigated by direct intracellular cytokine staining (ICS) flow cytometry, additionally, absolute numbers different measured among patients with HIV/TB (HT group), compared them healthy controls (HC TB (TB group) HIV infection (HIV group). After one week’s anti-TB treatment, changes percentages further evaluated HT groups. Results Totally 26 individuals HC group, 51 group 29 enrolled. HT. exhibited significantly lower IFN-γ + CD4 , CD8 TNF-α IL17A T CD14 monocytes than Compared secreting perforin (p=0.010; p=0.043) group. (p=0.013; p=0.001; p<0.001) decreased, percentage IL-17A (p=0.015) was increased Both TGF-β (p<0.001; p=0.001), granzyme A (all p<0.001), higher an (p=0.003) found (p=0.029) Conclusion Significantly functional profiles regulatory, observed to alone, even though those co-infection. TNF-α-secreting may be a more sensitive marker for early evaluation treatment efficacy

Presence of specific immunoglobulin A-secreting cells in peripheral blood after natural infection with Shigella sonnei.

The appearance of antigen-specific immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibody-secreting cells (ASCs) following natural infection with Shigella sonnei during a common-source outbreak caused by this organism was evaluated in a modified enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISPOT). A mean IgA ASC value of 2,131.6/10(6) cells against homologous S. sonnei lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was detected in blood samples o...

Cytokine Production in Hymenolepis Nana Infection

Background: Although many experimental studies provide convincing evidence that type II immunity is protective against helminths, recent data in mice demonstrate that Th1 is also impor-tant in some cestodes like Hymenolepis nana. Objective: To identify the role of Th1 and Th2 lymphocytes in immunity against H. nana, the levels of IL-12, IFNγ, IL-5, and IL-13 were de-termined in serum of humans ...

Expression of Th1 and Th2 Cytokine and Associated Transcription Factors in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells and Correlation with Disease Severity

Background: Psoriasis is a T cell-mediated autoimmune disease with elevated level of pro-inflammatory cytokines belonging mainly to Th1 pathway. We investigated whether treatment with micronutrients along with methotrexate (MTX) is able to modulate mRNA expression of Th1 and Th2 patterns and its correlation with disease severity. Methods: Thirty plaque type psoriasis patients with Psoriasis ...

Peripheral cytokine responses to Trichuris muris reflect those occurring locally at the site of infection.

The study of human cellular immune responses to parasite infection under field conditions is very complex. Often, the only practical site from which to sample the cellular responses is the peripheral blood. Sampling peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) relies on the assumption that these peripheral responses accurately reflect the immune responses acting locally at the site of infection. This is ...

The effects of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells on ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma and cytokine responses in mice

Objective(s): Allergic Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the lungs that is characterized by increased infiltration of leukocytes into the airways, limiting the respiratory function. Studies suggest that a defective general regulatory system against inflammation could be a significant factor in allergic asthma. It has been shown that Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have a cellular immunosuppres...
